The power plant uses a height of fall of 51 metres at the top of the Nid 河 and draws water from Lake Hyttfossdammen, which merges with Lake Selbusjøen and Lake Bjørsjøen when the reservoir is full.

像Løkaunet, nearby Svean power plant and Bratsberg power plant also use water in the Nid 河 from Lakes Selbusjøen and Bjørsjøen.

Løkaunet电厂 is equipped with a Francis turbine.
